zzz

"This bed is too small for two," she thought, drowsily pushing against the flesh that pressed so firmly against the side of her bare thigh.

They had yet to synchronise their sleeping patterns and positions -- that sort of comfort level comes after months of sleeping together -- and so she tossed and turned most cautiously in the still of the night.

On her cheeks, she faintly felt soft breaths being exhaled. There was a gentle rumbling sound coming from somewhere within the depths of the comforter. It was a satisfied snore, she realised with a groggy half-smile.

With her eyes still closed, she yawned and stretched and accidentally kicked off the covers. At the foot of the bed, her sleeping partner sprang up with a start -- and protested with an extremely indignant meow.
